Zara Noor Abbas says ‘Negativity of body shaming has never stopped her from being who she is’!

Zara Noor Abbas who got fame in a very short span of time through her talent has been a victim of body shaming since her first appearance on Television. Recently, while talking to BBC Asian Network, Zara Noor  opened up about her feelings and how she has stopped paying heed to insensitive remarks.

“The negativity of body shaming has never stopped me from being who I am,” said the Challawa actress.

“I was body-shamed for a very, very long time on social media, of course, I had to block out of it because if I keep on listening to them than I am going to lose focus,” said the 28-year old. While adding further she stated, “There was a point in time when I had to tell myself to stop and make it a point where I have to embrace myself and embrace my flaws.”

Zara said that she has always tried to be confident about her appearance and flaunted her flaws too, because they define her. She added that there has been time she was told not to wear jeans or sleeveless because she is ‘big’ but Zara said that did not stop her, instead she would do it twice and put up pictures too.

Instead Zara said her focus was her work and make the best of her talent that she owns. For Zara, it’s her talent that defines her and not her body size.

She also stated, “No matter what size I am, my talent is not going to suffer because of that,”

However, despite her confidence and success, Zara shared that the comments do the hurt her and definitely other people who are body shamed.

“I think criticism always is very hurtful. I have met people who have come up to me and asked me to go for liposuction and to get a few parts of my body cut but it has always hurt me,” said the actress.

On the work front Zara has been quite busy recently. After her on continuous television shows Deewar-e-Shab, Qaid, Lamhay and Khamoshi, the actress is now shining on silver screen. After her latest release Challawa, Zara is gearing up for her next big ‘Paray Hut Love’ in August.
