We’re all put down in some way or another by our skin color, through subconscious discrimination; all telling us, you’re not good enough. So we become insecure, and we start to view ourselves in terms of others. In short, we compare.
Recently the vlogger Zaid Ali announced that they are on their first trip to Pakistan together. Taking to Twitter, Zaid posted a picture with his wife and captioned it, “First time in Pakistan together.”

We often see female actors, activists, and filmmakers being criticized for one thing or the other and it seems as though trolls haven’t spared Zaid’s wife either.
The comedian took to Twitter to complain about how people have been writing negative comments about his wife’s appearance, especially based on her skin colour.
Read a comment today on my photo which said “Your wife is ugly because of her dark skin”. It’s so upsetting how most Pakistanis can’t even embrace their own skin colour.

It’s sad to see how we Pakistanis can’t even embrace our own skin colour.
