News broke out over the weekend revealing that Baywatch star Zac Efron almost died after he contracted a disease during his recent visit to Papua New Guinea. Soon after the news about his health made the headlines, Efron took to Instagram to share details about his current health condition.
Zac Efron has opened up about his brush with death saying he bounced back quickly after contracting a life-threatening illness while filming a survival show in Papua New Guinea.
He took to Instagram on Sunday night and shared a snap with children from his time in Papua New Guinea. He captioned it: ‘Very thankful to everyone who has reached out.
‘I did get sick in Papua New Guinea but I bounced back quick and finished an amazing 3 weeks in P.N.G.
‘I’m home for the holidays with my friends and family. Thanks for all the love and concern, see you in 2020!’
Efron was thought to have come down with a ‘form of typhoid or similar bacterial infection’ just before Christmas, and was flown to Brisbane on a ‘life-or-death flight’ with the assistance of medical professionals.
On Saturday he was seen for the first time since it emerged that he was rushed to hospital with the deadly infection just days before Christmas.
