Jeffree Star had even announced he was making the new product. But last night makeup mogul released a YouTube video.
In the 16 minute long YouTube video, the beauty mogul reveals that a Jeffree Star Cosmetics warehouse was broken into and millions of dollars worth of makeup was stolen. Here’s everything we know about the case so far.
Last weekend, images of Star’s cosmetic new magic concealers were leaked online. The person who first posted them was attempting to sell them before Jeffree had even announced he was making the new product. Fans assumed that the leak was due to a few stolen samples, but in a new video, Jeffree shares that that’s not the case.
According to Jeffree, the robbers stole upwards of $2.5 million in inventory, everything from Skin Frost Highlighter to Velour Lip Liners, and an entire shade of the new concealers.
“One of my stock and shipping facility warehouses was broken into and over 2.5 million dollars of product was stolen from me. This is the biggest theft I have ever experienced in my entire career,” he said.
The police and FBI are currently working to find out how the break-in occurred, Jeffree says. He believes that the sole purpose of the burglary was to sell the products on the black market.
