Wolverine’s movie franchise’s latest movie titled “Logan” has triumphed the U.S Box office. The weekend box office numbers were huge, opening with a massive $85.3 million that surpassed expectations and ranks among the top March debuts ever.
The Movie features Hugh Jackman in his final performance as Wolverine. He has played the character of Wolverine for past 17 years starting with the movie “X-men” (2000). Jackman has also explained that comedian Jerry Seinfeld was indirectly responsible for his decision to end his career as Wolverine.
Jackman stated,
“I was having a chat with [Seinfeld] about a year ago … he was talking about why he finished Seinfeld , He said he’d always had this feeling and belief that you never know when either your energy or the audience’s energy is going to dip over into people [saying] ‘Oh, please go.”
This will also be the last outing of Patrick Stewart in the X-men movies as Professor X. The movie is directed by James Mangold.
Word of mouth and good reviews for the unusually dark and dramatic comic book movie along with the brilliant acting from the cast of the movie especially from the young actress Dafne Keen, is kind of strange for movies in superhero genre to get this kind of reviews and ratings. Jackman also accepted a pay reduction to ensure that the film would be produced to receive an R-rating.
