As we speak of the First Lady; the only thing that comes in our mind is, a woman who follows rules strictly and makes sure others does that too. Well, this time the case is different. Michelle Obama knows how to run the White House and she also knows how to bend the rules; a little. She likes hosting events at the White House, and like any good hostess she knows how to take care of her guests.
On Friday, at Variety’s Power of Women ceremony in LA, Spanx founder Sara Blakely appreciated the First Lady and told that she saved her from aching feet from heels and let her walk barefoot around the White House.
She stated, “I stood in line at an event and they allowed us to get a one-on-one photo with Michelle Obama,” Blakely explained. “I waited in the line so long that by the time I finally got up to Michelle Obama, I literally burst out, ‘My feet are killing me,’ and she goes, ‘Girl, my feet are killing me, too.’ I asked if I can take my shoes off and she said, ‘Yes, and you can tell anyone who tells you to put them back on that Mrs. Obama said you can take them off.”
This goes out from a woman to another, such massive respect Mrs. Obama, you felt the pain of being in heels. I hope the next First Family carries your comfort-first shoe policy.
