The general public seems pretty concerned at all times about what the royal women – mainly Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle – are deciding to get dressed in.
And we, as much as everyone else, love finding out the secret meanings and other reasons behind some of their clothing choices.
The latest revelation we all need to hear? Well, it’s all about Kate and Meghan’s royal maternity wardrobes.
If you have a very keen eye for detail, you may have noticed that all three times Kate Middleton was pregnant, she started wearing slightly shorter hemlines than before.
In fact, InStyle spoke to Cecile Reinaud, founder of maternity brand Seraphine, who confirmed this fact.
She said: “[Kate] did [go shorter] for sure. She went shorter, on a couple of occasions well above her knee, which she never does normally. And especially in winter, because when she wore opaque black tights, it looks okay. It doesn’t look too much because it’s not bare legs.”
And Cecile predicts that Meghan Markle is likely to go down a certain route. Why? Well, it’s a winter pregnancy and: “she’s likely to have quite a big bump because she’s quite a petite build … so highlighting legs and arms is always a good trick to keep a nice silhouette.”
Of course Meghan has already gone for shorter hemlines during the pregnancy so far, we just didn’t know at the time that she was expecting…
Whatever she decides to wear – we can’t wait to see Meghan’s maternity style evolve!
