Ways to cope-up with rude boss.

Saying “No” to Uncivil Behavior.

Ways to deal with rude boss in the work place.

Stand up to uncivil behavior.

In an ideal world, we all think of fantastic managers and bosses.  This may not be true 98% of the times. However the 2% are such which would help you succeed and motivate you. They’ll make you feel valued and respected.

If you ever come across a person who has anger management problems, shows favoritism towards one employee more, or is out-right bully, tells you that you’re not very competent – do yourself a favor and get out of that situation.

  1. Make sure your boss is bad.

Before you try to fix or tell your boss he’s bad, you need to make sure you’re dealing with one. Think of reasons his or her behavior is cold towards you or is it all in your head? Observe your boss for a while and notice the things they do. Is it maybe you’re too hard on him or her?

  1. Identify things that motivate your boss.

If you understand why your boss does things in a particular manner or care about things in a certain manner you can talk to him and give him an insight into his or her management style. If you think you can’t do that figure out another way and talk to your superiors about it.

  1. Don’t let their attitude affect your work.

No matter your boss’ bad behavior, don’t let it affect your work. You can still stay on good terms with them and work. Maybe once the dust settles they will appreciate you and realize you’ve done enough. Your competition isn’t with others it’s with your own self. If you do that it will build more pressure and workload on you.

  1. Stay one step ahead of the others.

When you’re dealing with the work your boss may have passed on to you, don’t drag it much and get things done before they come to you. You need to make a draft first and then work on those. Make a proper schedule and be ready it should always be 123 go. Don’t delay the work and leave room for complain. If you’ve fulfilled your responsibilities than they will not watch your every move.

  1. Set boundaries.

When you work with someone who you know has no boundaries than you need to have it for them. You should know when to distance yourself from their toxic behavior.

  1. Don’t assume that they’d know everything.

Just because someone is on a managerial level, it doesn’t mean that they have all the answers to everything all the time.  At times they too are just doing their job. We shouldn’t blame them for being at fault if they don’t know everything.

  1. Act as a leader.

When you have an incompetent boss you will definitely have a monotonous life. At times you’ll be responsible for making your own leadership decisions. If you have enough information about things and know-how about how the system functions you can even set up your own company. People will be inspired by you and willing to work for you once they realize your leadership skills.

  1. Identify Triggers.

If your boss has points which triggers them and makes them angry try to avoid them as much as possible otherwise, to a particular extent you’ll be at blame too.

  1. Use tips from Couples therapy.

While this may sound funny and weird it actually works. You need to pull on some important points from couple’s therapy and implement them in real life this way you can work through the issues pretty easily. If you find anything odd or don’t understand it just ask him questions like “Is that what you meant? “Can you please be more specific?”

  1. Avoid future bad bosses.

Whenever you go to interview for a new company, make sure you’ve done your homework and are well-aware of the boss otherwise, it can cause troubles again. You can go out with one of two staffers for coffee, drinks or lunch and through their conversations about work you can pick whether it’s the right fit for you or not.
