Victoria Beckham bans use of exotic animal skins, furs for her brand!

Famed British fashion designer Victoria Beckham will no longer use exotic animal skins in her fashion designs.

Victoria Beckham brand spokesperson, while talking to a publication has confirmed the new. Spokesperson said:

“As a business, we have been looking to action the use of more ethically sourced products that have a less environmental impact for some time.

We are happy to confirm that we will cease using exotic skins in all future collections as of our main fall 2019 ready-to-wear presentation. This decision reflects the wishes of not only the brand but also that of our customers.”

Despite never using fur in its designs, Beckham’s luxury label currently sells python shoes on its website and has previously advertised for snakeskin bags.

Seems like Victoria Beckham is following into the footsteps of few other top fashion brands. As it two a few months ago when top French fashion brand Chanel announced that it would no longer be using exotic animal pelts in its clothing and fashion accessories. Chanel is among the first luxury labels to turn back on crocodile and lizard skin.

This initiative has been received a warmly by PETA, ‘People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals’ which is an American animal rights organization.

“Victoria Beckham’s decision to ban exotic skins will spare countless remarkable animals immense suffering, and PETA calls on other luxury brands to follow her kind example,” said PETA director Elisa Allen.
