The recent demise of Umer Sharif has left the country in shock. Sindh government has announced to accept the last request of the legendary comedian to be buried at the shrine of Abdullah Shah ghazi in Clifton, Karachi. Senator Saeed Ghani has confirmed this, via a tweet after he spoke to his son and promised to make the necessary arrangements for his late father, who was a great asset to the Pakistani Arts and Culture.
His body will be in Karachi, Pakistan on Tuesday after he was sent to Germany for his medical treatment.
Umer Sharif was 66 years old, he ruled the hearts of Pakistani people with his brilliant comedy and impressive performances that will always be etched in the memories of everyone.
What surprises me is that the Sindh government has permitted his family to bury him at the holy shrine of Abdullah Shah Ghazi. Previously, the government had also promised legendary singer Mehdi Hassans family to bury him at the Mazar-e-Quaid, however, these plans were not followed through.
I just want to see if the government will stand by this promise made to Umer Sharifs family and fulfil his last request.
What do you all have to say about this?
Until next time.
