The art of missing someone is truly unmatched. Thinking of that person, wondering if you’re on their mind and just losing yourself in this feeling of craving for them is inexplainable. As they say “Absence makes the heart grow fonder” and it really does. This feeling of wanting more of their time, wanting to share every little thing with them and make memories with them makes us appreciate their presence once they are around.
Many of you may be familiar with this French saying which translates to “I miss you”.
Tu me manques.
For me, it not only is about those three simple words “I miss you”.
It’s about that feeling of being incomplete, the ache of being away and the irrevocable and unconditional love you feel for them. Not because you can’t do anything without them, it’s just you rather do it with them. Being in places where you’d want to walk with them, sit at cafés and laugh over a coffee, watch sunsets together and make memories you will cherish forever.
Tu me manques. For me, it isn’t just a simple “I miss you” it means “You are missing from me”.
It’s not just momentarily, it’s about them being a part of you, an essential to our being. It’s like the oxygen we breathe or the blood running through our veins. It’s about not being able to function without them. It’s not just a feeling, it’s a need which makes everything fall into place.
