Our all-time favorite Tom Hanks who has been entertaining us with his versatile acting since 1988 will be receiving a lifetime achievement award at the upcoming Golden Globes 2020.
Titled, Cecil B. DeMille award, the prestigious award is given to showbiz individuals who create a longstanding impact on the industry and audiences. Given Tom’s wide array of films and performances, the actor has rightly stood out as the candidate for 2020 Cecil B. DeMille.
“For more than three decades, he’s captivated audiences with rich and playful characters that we’ve grown to love and admire,” said Lorenzo Soria, president Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) while announcing the decision on Tuesday.
Lorenzo added, “As compelling as he is on the silver screen, he’s equally so behind the camera as a writer, producer, and director.”
Earlier, Steven Spielberg, Meryl Streep, Oprah Winfrey, Jeff Bridges, and Harrison Ford have also been recipients of the prestigious award.
63-years Amerian star is known for his comedic and dramatic roles in such films as Splash, Big, Turner & Hooch, A League of Their Own, Sleepless in Seattle, and many other films which have amazing film fans all over the world.
He is one of the greatest actors of all time, with five Oscar nominations and two wins, plus countless box office blockbusters.
