Bones may be nearing the finish line? This news broke the internet, leaving fans with a sad face. Bones which is FOX network’s longest running live-action series might end after 12 seasons.
Dana Walden, Co-Chairman/CEO, Fox Television Group admitted the network is “really not sure about Bones” at this point, adding they will sit down with producers soon to discuss “whether this is going to be the end of its run or whether there’s potentially another season in the show.”
If this is happening then Walden wants to give the creative team “plenty of time to write a meaningful ending to the show.” She said, “Viewers deserve a very satisfying ending, so we’re trying to be very sensitive about that.”
Regarding the ongoing legal battle between series leads David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel and 20th Century Fox over Bones profits, Walden said the dispute has “not resolved quite yet,” but noted its outcome would have no impact on the show’s renewal chances.
Though the news for the Bones fans is sad and heart-breaking, but we hope it stays as a rumour for few more seasons.
