The working class Pakistani is paying a hefty price during lockdown!

As much as we agree that a lockdown was necessary for our government to control the rising number of coronavirus cases, we must admit that it is evident how it has caused our entire country to go into a state of turmoil.

The average daily wage earner has no means of income, and the government is only able to provide so much. Our economy is clearly not equipped to deal with a catastrophe like this and it will be a long time before we, as nation, reach that point.

During this difficult time, instead of criticising our government, who is doing everything in its power to protect us and provide for us as best they can, we must support our government with all that we can offer and trust in their guidance.

We can see many companies, shops and civilians and authorities alike, are following the social distancing protocols to the ‘T’, but there are still many who are not.

Our representatives went to F.B. Area in Karachi recently and found that the ration distribution centres there are not following protocol at all. people are sitting shoulder to shoulder, waiting in the heat to receive aid.

We hear that in Lahore the situation is worse because people are still not taking this lockdown seriously. We implore you, please don’t take this lightly. This lockdown is for our own good. If we start respecting the guidance we are receiving from the government about social distancing then this lockdown wont be necessary and the daily wage earners can start working again.

Be responsible citizens. It is our duty!
