The nation remembers Malika-e-Taranum on her death anniversary.

The nation remembers popular singer and actress Malika-e-Tarannum Noor Jehan on her 20th death anniversary today.
She was the one who set a new standard of music in Pakistan, the one who used to motivate soldiers through her melodious national songs, the one who still remains alive in the hearts of Pakistanis.
Madam Noor Jehan was the most inspiring singer of her time and was honored with the title of Malika-e-Tarannum.
On 23 December 2000 (night of 27 Ramadan), Jehan died as a result of heart failure. Her funeral took place at Jamia Masjid Sultan, Karachi, and was attended by over 400,000 people. She was buried at the Gizri Graveyard in Karachi.
