Recently, India had announced that they will be imposing a “Hijab Ban” all over and a video of Muslim girls went viral for not being allowed to enter their institutions if they were wearing a Hijab.
A Muslim girl, stood against these oppressors and protested with the phrase “Allah Hu Akbar” while bravely walking into the crowd of people who were supporting the Hijab Ban.
Moreover, Indian celebrities such as Sonam Kapoor and Rakhi Sawant have shown empathy and made statements on social media and in public to make their support known.
Sonam Kapoor spoke about how it was a symbol of pride for the Sikh community to wear their turbans and it should be the same for Muslims. Hijab is a religious matter and no one should be allowed to interfere with anyones choices or spreading hate crime!
Rakhi Sawant went an extra mile by wearing a Hijab in one of her public appearances and showing support got the Muslim community.
We live in a time of global integration and such laws are unacceptable and sadly unaccounted for. Not only is this religious discrimination but it outs many lives at risk because it opens up space for hate crime against minorities.
