Thai contestant Jiratchaya Sirimongkolnawin has won Miss International Queen 2016 at a contest which has been termed as the world’s largest and most popular transgender pageant.
The 25-year-old Thai contestant stood first among 24 other contestants belonging to different nationalities. The second and third place were crowned to Brazil and Venezuela, respectively.
The transgender pageant aims to become a platform for all the transgender women who want to feel more close to the society, it was launched nearly a decade ago.
“It’s like a new category, but the gender already existed a long time ago,” said Jiratchaya, glistening in a white glittering and black side rim evening gown.
The transgender contest was held at the Tiffany’s ngihtclub in the Thai seaside town of Pattaya, famous for transvestite cabaret. The contest has entered its 13th year after the recent win.
