Add Kate Upton to the growing #MeToo movement. The supermodel called out Guess co-founder Paul Marciano on social media.
“It’s disappointing that such an iconic women’s brand @GUESS is still empowering Paul Marciano as their creative director #metoo” she tweeted.
Later, she followed up on Instagram, adding, “He shouldn’t be allowed to use his power in the industry to sexually and emotionally harass women #metoo.”
Upton, 25, hasn’t revealed whether she was referring specifically to herself being harassed, or other women in the modeling industry, but she told reporters at LAX that she is anxious to get her story out.
“I’m excited to tell my whole story,” she told a gathering of reporters, alleging that there may be others who helped Marciano prey on women. “I think a lot of people around them know about it and need to speak out. Not models, the people around them.”
Before getting in her car to leave, she hinted that this is just the beginning of allegations to come against the clothing entrepreneur, and that more women would be speaking out soon.
