Karachiates should prepare themselves for an amazing experience – an experience that they probably had before but have never enjoyed the authenticity of it. Though I am not a big fan of Arabic food – I am more sort of a desi person, a sudden plan of trying a new cuisine (for me at least) went quite amazing.
Mandi is becoming a popular dish in Karachi and people who have travelled to Middle East; they know the authentic taste of it. Out of so many Mandi houses, we chose to stop at Mataam Al Mandi – newly opened restaurant as they have a lot more to offer other than their signature dish. But obviously, we had to try their signature dish otherwise what would be the point of sitting in a ‘Mandi house’. First I was astonished by their ambiance; so neat and clean. Perfect sitting areas; private and dine in tables, and for those who are always into their phones they have a socket for you to charge your phones – yayy!
Now, let’s talk about the main thing; FOOD! We ordered Chicken Mandi, as most of us don’t eat lamb or mutton and a barbecue platter and few cocktails. Mandi was freshly cooked, the meat was tendered, oh and did I tell you about their amazing steel crockery? Anyway back to the amazing food, it was served in a big dish with raita and a chutney. BBQ platter had around 6-7 different varieties, all of them were scrumptiously delicious especially malai boti and reshmi kebebs.
It was surely an amazing experience with hygienic and fresh food, a must visit place with your friends and family.
P.s: don’t forget to try Mango peach surprise!
