A story of football & hope

Adeel is a young boy from Lyari and he may be Pakistan’s first, future football prodigy.

Born in to an impoverished home Adeel Hanif didn’t have the resources many take for granted. He only had a few possessions; his most valuable being his football. That is because Adeel loves football, he always has. It’s been his dream to play professionally. And, it seems he may get his wish.

Adeel and his friends didn’t learn to play football in any academy or through school. They learned to play football by watching videos on Youtube. Their passion for the game became an obsession and they spent hours upon hours honing their skills.

Fortunately, luck shined on Adeel and he was spotted by Karachi United. They saw his potential and wasted no time in taking him up for training. McDonald’s Pakistan also learned of Adeel’s magnificent journey and have sought to help him reach as high as his talent will allow.

Since his initial rise, Adeel has benefited from more exposure, which has in-turn led to more opportunities for him to showcase all he has to offer. In the last year, he’s been called up to train with FC Barcelona’s coaches, he’s also been chosen to demonstrate his skills in Doha, as a representative of Pakistan.

So, to everyone out there having a bad day, I hope this story of perseverance has made you dream a little bit more.
