SRK-Mahira starrer Raees has managed to break all the records by setting our cinema screens on fire. Undoubtedly, Mahira Khan and Shah Rukh Khan managed to steal the limelight with their haute and gorgeous looks along with the spotlight steal-worthy acting.
The film is based on the bootlegger Shah Rukh Khan who falls in love with the chic yet traditional Mahira. Raees is the ride yet not so traditional of a criminal who is maestro in ground and love-embossed in home. SRK’s acting has all the colours of a criminal and a lover who knows how to slay in style. On the other hand, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is a perfect aplomb of a cop. However, the best and the most surprising part of the movie is when you come to know that Raees is a criminal who commits crime for a good cause. But, that surprise is not pleasant as we did not expect a bloodthirsty hate-monger to turn into a heart warming philanthropist for no reason.
As far as Mahira Khan’s much awaited debut is concerned, she stands true to her name and beauty. Mahira adds a touch of finesse and glamour in the movie with her soft yet eye-catching looks. It is safe to say that Mahira stands to the name of Pakistan, but there could have been an extra glorifying addition to her role.
Raees has its own ups and downs, yet it is SRK’s reviving entry to the world of classy acting and story-based plot. We all had been waiting to see Shah Rukh back in action with his signature acting.
Raees is an amalgamation of songs, dance sequences, and story line. A little addition here and there to top off the plot could have made it more appealing. There are scenes where this movie definitely defies common sense, but that is the mainstream Bollywood style, so we can turn a little blind to it here.
The action crime thriller is co-produced by Gauri Khan under the banner Red Chillies Entertainment and Ritesh Sidhwani & Farhan Akhtar under their banner Excel Entertainment.
