Right after Spider-man success, Sony is all set for another hit. With “Spider-Man: Far From Home” crossing the $1 billion worldwide, Sony is on director hunt for its Venom sequel.
After a good week of search some of the finest and potential director have been selected to make it on ground. According to few source Andy Serkis, “Bumblebee” director Travis Knight and Rupert Wyatt are among the directors meeting for the coveted job on the film that has Tom Hardy set to return in the title role.
Due to conflict of schedule Ruben Fleischer director of first Venom is not returning as he is in post-production on “Zombieland: Double Tap.”
Sony/Marvel grossed a massive $855 million worldwide. This news comes right after the studio recently dated an untitled Marvel sequel for October 2020.
But the loyal fan put into together to assume that slot was for “Venom 2,” giving it the same release date as its predecessor.
The first “Venom” also starred Michelle Williams and featured a last-minute cameo by Woody Harrelson as chief Venom villain Cletus Kasady as Carnage.
So lets wait the both the studios confirm the news. The next in line for this universe is the “Morbius,” starring Jared Leto, which is set to bow next summer.
