We all know that there are a lot of fake perfumes in the market that we are unaware of, and at the same time, we get suspicious about whether we bought an original perfume or a fake one. There’s always a question mark in our mind that how can we identify whether it’s REAL or FAKE?
However, there are several signs that will help you to spot the difference between the two.
- Wrapping
Authentic perfumes have plastic wrapping which is quite thick and folded flawlessly so that it can tightly adhere to the box. Improperly wrapping, on the other hand, is a sign of fake perfumes.
- Paperboard
Real packaging is made from high-quality paperboard and is designed to protect the bottle from damage. The paperboard should be white, not grayish.
- Design
While looking through the shelves of fragrance stores, we can see perfumes that appear unusually similar in look and smell to some of the high-end designer perfumes. Don’t forget to inspect the perfume bottle carefully before you purchase it.
- Colour of the perfume
Famous brands don’t use lots of dye in their products, which is why the colour of authentic perfume is usually pale. The striking ’chemical’ colour of a liquid is the sign of a fake perfume.
- Bottle
An authentic perfume will have a high-quality bottle with a smooth and fine surface. The bottle of a fake perfume is a bit rough and contoured.
- Bottle Cap
The cap of an original perfume should be perfectly symmetrical (unless otherwise designed in the original creation, of course).
- Serial Number
The serial number should be indicated on the bottom of the bottle, not glued one. Secondly, the serial number on the bottle should match the number at the bottom of the box. It should be imprinted on the base of the box or printed with ink.
However, if you inspect a fake perfume thoroughly, you’ll find a lot of imperfections.
