Academy award and Emmy Award winning film-maker Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy has made us proud yet again. Sharmeen recently hosted an elegant evening Soiree at her Karachi residence in which she welcomed Catherine King – Head of Advocacy and Executive Producer at Global Fund for Women – to Pakistan.
Moreover the guest list for the evening was an eclectic mix of women from a cross section of society, with the one thing in common being ‘high achievement’. Shazia Syed – Chairperson Unilever, Seema Taher – co-founder Interflow and CEO Airwaves Media, Ameena Saiyid of Oxford University Press, Kiran Aman of Markings Publishings, Senator Nasreen Jalil, Sameera Raja, designers Sonya Battla and Maheen Karim and amongst others were three actors who inspire woman’s rights – Sanam Saeed, Aamina Sheikh and Sarwat Gilani.
Sharmeen is currently working with the Global Fund for Women on a very interesting project, details of which we will be able to reveal to you soon.
