Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Bharat releases in less than a month, on Eid 2019. The film, which started shooting last year, has been making headlines ever since it was announced. Initially Bharat was to be Priyanka Chopra’s comeback film for Bollywood but the Quantico lady bowed out of the project at the eleventh hour, only for the role to be taken up by Katrina Kaif, who now looks absolutely gorgeous in the avatar.
Priyanka perhaps cited personal reasons for not doing Bharat but it seems costar Salman Khan is still miffed at PeeCee for not doing the film.
In a live session, when Katrina Kaif was asked about her role, she stated how she had to work really hard in a very short period of time for Kumud Raina and this was where Salman cut in and stated that it was because Priyanka left the project at the eleventh hour.
“I had two months to prepare for the role and I worked extremely hard. Ali was very, very clear at least about the look of the character and once we cracked the physicality and hair, it was a big help for us. The character was extremely well written, very strong, a woman fighting in a man’s world. Once the structure was in place it was about putting as much preparation and reading the scenes and rehearsing with Ali and my coach was helping me too,” said Katrina Kaif.
To this, Salman immediately added, “Yes, Katrina Kaif worked really hard to prepare for the role. If only Priyanka Chopra gave us more time…”
However, the director, Ali Abbas Zafar quickly intervened and made the team move on to the next question.
