With less than 10 days to go for the much-awaited Sanjay Dutt biopic to hit theatres, Sanju star Ranbir Kapoor is leaving no stones unturned to promote his upcoming film directed by Rajkumar Hirani. The actor has time and again revealed some interesting anecdotes not only from the sets of Sanju but also his personal experience with the actor and how he has been a Sanjay Dutt fan from when he first learned about Bollywood fandom.
Meanwhile, fans on social media can’t stop gushing about how amazing Ranbir Kapoor looks as Sanjay Dutt in Sanju. As soon as the first trailer for the film dropped on the web, netizens were completely floored by Ranbir’s portrayal of Sanju, the nuances and the mannerisms.
Now, the actor has revealed a few other secrets from his growing up years, back he was a massive fanboy of Sanjay Dutt. “Of course, he’s very close to the family. He treats me like a younger brother and spoils me with many gifts as well as a lot of love. He gave me a Harley Davidson motorcycle for my birthday. He used to pick me up for a drive in his Ferrari late in the night,” the actor told DNA in an interview.
But this gift didn’t go down well with Ranbir Kapoor’s father Rishi Kapoor, who blasted his contemporary (Sanjay Dutt) for spoiling his son. In fact, for the first few months, Rishi Kapoor was unaware that Ranbir even had the bike and when he found out all hell broke lose.
“I remember I had to hide it from Papa for a long time as he doesn’t like bikes. When he found out that Sanjay sir had gifted me one, he called him and fired him. He told him, ‘Stop spoiling my son, ‘isko tere jaisa mat bana.’ But now, he’s aware that I have the bike. It is one of my most prized possessions,” Ranbir Kapoor added.
