A US reporter has become subject of viral memes after a video of her saying she tried to reach a dead man for “comment” live on air.
Sara Welch made the gaffe on air saying she tried to reach out to a man for comments but he was not available while reporting on an incident which involved the death of a suspect in a police chase.
“We tried to reach out to the man who died in this pursuit. They were unavailable for comment. Back to you,” she could be heard saying live on TV.
And of course, because the internet never lets anything die, social media users had a field day trolling Welch.

At least they followed proper journalism protocol

It would've been weirder if he actually gave a comment.

How rude of him not to get back to them. Some people have no manners.
