Precautions to keep in mind from getting ‘Heat Stroke’ this summer!

HEAT STROKE IS COMING!

Also known as ‘Sun Stroke’ is a type of severe heat illness that results in a body temperature greater than 40.0 °C (104.0 °F) and confusion.

WHO IS AT RISK?

  • Students
  • Outdoor Workers
  • Athletes
  • Children, especially infants
  • Elderly citizens

HOW TO PREVENT HEAT STROKE?

  • Get acclimated
  • Apply sunblock on your skin
  • Use ‘Aloe Vera’ on your skin for calming sunburn
  • Wear loose fitting apparels
  • Stay hydrated, Drink lots of cool fluids.
  • Stay Indoor, Keep yourself away from sunlight exposure as much as possible.
  • Keep a wet towel with you when travelling

SYMPTOMS?

  • Muscle weakness
  • Cramps
  • Nausea
  • Dizziness
  • Vomiting
  • Excessive sweating
  • Increase in heart beat

WHEN TO RUN TO EMERGENCY?

  • (CALL 15) When you’re getting unconscious
  • High body temperature
  • Skin turning red and dry
