Penn Badgley accidentally let slip that his hit Netflix show You will return for a third season. The show, which sees Penn’s character Joe Goldberg commit gruesome murders before getting away with his crimes, returned for a second season on Boxing Day. And the American, 33, will have delighted fans by ‘unofficially’ admitting that a third season is on its way.
The 33-year-old said: “She doesn’t appear to be the same kind of person. She doesn’t appear to be the same kind of predator. She doesn’t appear to be the same kind of… you know, dare I say, in the third season – oh, god!”
Realising his mistake, Badgley slapped his head. But it didn’t take long for the reporter to jump on it and press him more on the possibility of a third season.
The actor went on: “I literally know nothing about the third season.”
The reporter then asked: “Are we going to get a third season?”
Giving in, Badgley then nods as he says: “Technically I can’t… I mean, like, unofficially?”
The show is based on the novel by Caroline Kepnes and the first season followed bookstore manager Joe Goldberg as he became dangerously obsessed with an aspiring writer named Guinevere Beck.
