Bollywood ban on Pakistani artistes has become a controversy that can’t seems to settle down. The situation for our actors has become pretty much intense in India over the period of time. However, it seems that the clouds of dust are finally settling down. In a recent interview, Indian Chief Minister of Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh has something to say in the favour of Pakistani actors.
The minister has said that he was never in the favour of banning and locking talent by the segregation of two countries. He is delightful to extend an invitation to the artists from our part of the border to visit India, and has also expressed his intentions that he would once again love to visit Pakistan.
Captain Singh in his statement said:
“It is time to mend fences and make friends with Pakistan.”
The ban across an on both the countries became prominent after URI attacks, post which Fawad Khan, Ali Zafar and Mahira Khan returned to Pakistan. In solidarity with the forces, cinema owners in Pakistan also decided to shut down Indian movies. But, the ban was uplifted by PM Nawaz Sharif in January this year.
It seems that finally the ice of hatred has started to melt from the hearts of the Indians. But, it remains to be seen, how long will it take for the cultural infusion to began once again between the two countries.
