Many years have passed since the legend Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan has left us. Without any doubt, he has been still one of our inspirational and the one who gave life to Qawali’s. Being such an inspirational usually makes people cheat or copy their work same happened with our legend. But the good part is not only in Pakistan but India is on the top to copy our Qawali’s or music. “I know we have been always an inspiration for you India” ^_^
In a press conference at the Lahore Press Club, the legendary musician’s daughter “Nida Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan” clearly mentioned that she has got plans to take actions against all those people who have copied her father’s songs without seeking prior permission. She said that after her father’s death she has got all the rights to his music. She further stated that she would be taking strict action against the ones who are using her father’s songs and would also be taking them to the court.
A local music firm Khokhar Productions has faked my signatures and wrongly taken the rights of Nusrat’s music. We have issued them with a legal notice and also asked them to pay compensation.” She continued: “There are numerous different melodies that my dad expected to acquaint with the world however never found the opportunity. I will be launching these songs soon now. Indians who are stealing Nusrat’s work will likewise be considered responsible and presented with a legal notice. Fair enough I guess.
Nida also revealed plans to join the music industry. “I will join the music industry very soon since music is in my blood.”She announced that she would officially launch never-heard-before songs, ghazals and qawwalis of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan in the near future.
“I am preparing a website for this purpose and soon the audience will hear that music of my father which had never been made public.”
Nida Nusrat also warned people who have made blogs, fake Facebook accounts, and pages and announced to take action against them.
