A superstar of India, A R Rahman became a global force with his Oscar-winning score for Slumdog Millionaire. His huge body of work and creative influence has given him the nickname ‘the Mozart of Madras’.
When asked about the reason of him being in the industry he said, “Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan is my inspiration. He is a unique genius, I look at his qawwali, his voice, his composition, it is untouched by anyone.”
“I don’t know the way I grew up, I grew up with technology, a positive attitude of giving and be open about things. All the collaborations I’m doing is probably an excitement its an inclusive process”, He said.
Despite the political indifference between both the nations, Pakistani singers have made it big in the Indian cinema. Mehdi Hassan, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Ghulam Ali are considered extraordinary singers in India. Partition may have managed to separate India and Pakistan, but there is no denying the fact that people of both the countries appreciate each others talent with great respect.
