Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has had enough with celebrities posting their photos from vacations abroad and lashed out with a loud and clear message on his social media wall, as reported by Bollywood Hungama.
“These celebrities are posting [travel] pictures at a time when the world is reeling under the worst recession,” he said. People in India are suffering with hardly any money to afford food and here we see actors enjoying their luxurious holidays, he added.
As the spike of Covid cases cross over 16 million cases in, over 190,000 deaths have been reported as of Sunday evening. However, many other stars have also come out calling out those celebrities who have been posting photos of their vacations, especially Maldives.
“These people have made Maldives a joke,” Nawaz remarked. “But what else will they talk about? Acting? They will run out of steam in two minutes.”
Nawaz has requested these to sympathise with those who have been hit hard by the virus whilst keeping their vacation moments and enjoyment to themselves.
Along with Nawazuddin Siddiqui, actor Amit Sadh called the stars “fool” while stating, “We’re so self-absorbed and oblivious to what’s around us that we appear unempathetic.” He also revealed that he has taken a break from social media because he can’t stand these celebrities being so insensitive.
Actors who are sharing their travel photos include Janhvi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan and Pooja Bedi. Whereas, Ranaut was trolled for saying that although the coronavirus is claiming many lives, the “earth is healing”.
