Director Taika Waititi, who also directed Thor: Ragnarok, has returned for the next installment, officially titled Thor: Love and Thunder.
Portman will be reprising the role of Jane Foster alongside Chris Hemsworth, but this time around she will be lifting the god of thunder’s hammer as a superhero in her own right.
Portman was in attendance at the San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday to great fanfare, along with the returning director Taika Waititi and co-stars Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson. At the event, she was handed a Hasbro version of the hero’s famous hammer.
“I’ve always had hammer envy”, said Portman.
Portman featured in the first two Thor movies in 2011 and 2013 as Jane Foster, but was not part of the most recent installment, “Thor: Ragnarok.”
This new film ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ is slated for November 5, 2021, release.
