‘My roles in Chhalawa and PHL are completely different,’ says Zara Noor Abbas

Despite being relatively new in the industry, Zara Noor Abbas has emerged victorious with her sheer hard work, giving memorable performances in television plays like KhamoshiLamhay and Qaid. It seems like 2019 is going to be Zara’s big break. The actress will make her film debut with Wajahat Rauf’s Chhalawa this Eid ul Fitr and we will see her next in Asim Raza’s Parey Hut Love on Eid ul Azha.

So far, Zara, has four TV plays to her credit and the actress has always played a damsel in distress on-screen. In Chhalawa, her character has taken a 180-degree shift where she has this firecracker persona. Chhalawa is a romantic comedy where Haya (Zara) is playing a lighthearted comic role.

“I believe my characters in Lamhay and Qaid didn’t resonate that much with the audience because the audience doesn’t appreciate monotony. I’ve attempted to do something different with Chhalawa, and so far have received a very good response for it. I also think that viewers expect to see actresses playing different characters in films from what they do in television,” Zara said.

Which one of the two on-screen personas are most close to her real personality, we asked.

“None. I’m a very emotional person. That character would be something very deep and dark and it perhaps will be something that might be difficult for the audience to understand,” Zara replied.
