Miley Cyrus is a regular at the Met Gala, but this year the star marked a special milestone: her first trip to the event with husband Liam Hemsworth. Clad in coordinated Saint Laurent, the couple made a striking pair on the pink carpet. And yet despite their glamorous appearance, they remain down to earth. “I was walking out and I realized Liam had put his phone in this like it’s a real pocket!” Cyrus shared with Vogue on the steps of the museum before demonstrating how the curved flap of her sculptural Anthony Vaccarello design could be mistaken for a place to store an iPhone.
Hijinks aside, Cyrus and Hemsworth were well prepared for their evening with fashion legends Bob Recine and James Kaliardos at hand to help. Playful as always, Hemsworth even applied a touch of Cyrus’s makeup borrowing one of Kaliardos’ brushes and trying his hand at powder application. A career change probably isn’t on the horizon, but it made for a delightful photo opp.
In the first pair of Saint Laurent vegan shoes ever to be made, Cyrus provided a moment for the history books while looking chic at an event she admits is her favorite. The Met is like a reunion of all your friends and it starts feeling like family.
