After facing tension and difficulties, Raees finally made its release on 25th Jan, 2017. While the film industry made tremendous reviews and headlines praising the B-Town King, they looked quite satisfied with our beauty queen ‘Mahira Khan’ as well.
Having a great fan following in India, the leading lady of Raees looked immensely gorgeous in Raess; However our neighboring media is not ready to appreciate the beautiful talented actress in true means and credited the success of Raees solely to Shahrukh Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
Let’s analyse some of the Bollywood’s elite critic reviews.
Hindustan Times defines “Mahira’s lead role as “little more than a prop”. Time of India writes “Mahira is restricted to songs and a few emotional scenes, but doesn’t really add much”. Indian express writes “SRK’s romantic interest, Mahira Khan, too is not as fresh as she could have been”.
So the question that raises in mind is if her performance is really that bad or such reviews are the result of something else?
The talented Nawazuddin character had almost the same screen presence duration as that of Mahira, but nobody titled him as a supporting character. Then why Mahira?
Contradicting to all above criticism, we believe that she looked immensely fresh, eye soothing and proved herself as talented actress who can stand beside the Bollywood’s king.
It has never been easy for Pakistani artists specifically our actresses to acclaim themselves in Bollywood industry but Mahira Khan presence in the movie helped Raees to cross Rs. 250 million mark.
