Just a few days ago, Meesha Shafi accused Ali Zafar of sexual harassment via a tweet. Meesha in her tweet said that she has been subjected to sexual harassment of a physical nature in multiple occasions at the hands of her colleague from industry, Ali Zafar.
In response to this, Ali Zafar tweeted that he is aware & supportive of the global #Metoo movement. He denied all the claims made by Meesha Shafi and said that he will address this issue in court.
Many celebrities came forward into putting forward their point of view and support for either one of the two personalities. Well, the case is now in the court and Meesha Shafi has already named her lawyers.
She recently tweeted;
“I have appointed Barrister @pansota1 and @nighatdad as my legal counsels to look after all issues pertaining to my sexual harassment claim against Ali Zafar. Media is requested to contact them to get any update on the ongoing issue.”
However, amongst all this, the question here is that why has Meesha deleted her Instagram and Facebook account? It is assumed that she deleted her account on the advice of her lawyers, but as of yet, the reason is not confirmed.
Furthermore, as Ali Zafar has reportedly sent a legal notice to Meesha Shafi where he has demanded her to either delete the tweet that accused the singer and actor of harassment, issuing an apology for defaming him or pay at least hundred million rupees under the defamation ordinance. However, these reports were later dismissed.
