As HUM TV put wraps on one of its popular drama Bin Roye, Sammi is all set to hit our TV screens with an important yet enlightening social issue we all need to ponder over right away. Starting today at 8pm, Sammi is highlighting some of the veiled issues affecting the life of women around Pakistan.
Sammi will put the veils off some of the most strenuous and extraneous crimes this society has been entrenched with including the heinous trends of discriminatory inheritance laws, Vani, maternal & child healthcare negligence.
Sammi is Mawra Hocane’s come back to Pakistan’s Television screens after a long time. The Sanam Teri Qasam actress will be playing a strong female lead opposite the legendary Adnan Siddiqui. Apart from them, the ever-powerful star cast includes; Rehan Sheikh, Seemi Raheel, Ahad Raza Mir, Saman Ansari, Madiha Rizvi, Bilal Ansari, Noor ul Hasan, Irfan Khoosat, Sania Saeed, and Nadia Afgan.
Sammi has been penned by the writing maestro Noor Ul Huda Shah and directed by Saifee Hassan. The serial has been produced in collaboration with John Hopkins University under the banner MD Productions in association with Centre for Communication Programs, Pakistan.
Director Saifee Hassan explains the plot as:
“Sammi is the journey of different female characters that rise above traditional and social barriers and find within them the courage to claim their rights and end their silent suffering.”
