Starting this fall, film students at the University of Texas at Austin will start seeing a lot more of Matthew McConaughey.
The Academy Award winner and university alumnus was officially added to the list of faculty as a “professor of practice.”
The Academy Award-winning actor is officially a faculty member at the University of Texas at Austin, so students starting their Fall semesters should prepare to see a lot more of the Magic Mike star around campus. “In recognition of his professional pedigree and personal investment in student success, Matthew McConaughey has been appointed a #TEXASMoody professor of practice,” the university’s college of communication announced in a Twitter post on Wednesday. So, uh, how can we enroll?!
Matthew’s Script to Screen film-production class is exclusive to upper-division film majors and uses a specific movie per course to navigate the intricacies of the film producing and directing process, from start to finish. “By studying script drafts, shot lists, storyboards, early edits and even exclusive behind the scenes footage, students will garner insight into the making of a major Hollywood feature,” the class description reads.
The Moody College of Communication announced its new professor in a tweet on Wednesday morning.
