Police have arrested a popular but controversial Malaysian singer, after complaints that his most recent music video “insulted Islam”.
Namewee, who is a controversial Malaysian singer, was held in custody on Sunday after multiple criticisms on his latest song Oh My God that allegedly “insulted Islam”.
The offending video was released out in July which shows him rapping in front of shrines around Malaysia.
Namewee insists that Oh My God was projected to encourage religious accord.
Malaysian police took the singer in custody for four days to investigate him for “defiling a place of worship with intention to insult religion”.
