Sridevi was going to be a part of Karan Johar’s upcoming production being helmed by Abhishek Verman. The family reportedly had an ensemble cast comprising of Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur.
However, the latest buzz is Madhuri Dixit has taken over Sridevi’s role in Abhishek Varman’s upcoming film, following her untimely demise.
The late actor’s daughter, Janhvi took to social media to thank Dixit for taking over a film that was “close to mom’s heart”.
It was with this film (Shiddat), which was going to reunite Sridevi and Sanjay Dutt on the big screen after a gap of 25 years.
Shiddat is a period drama set during the time of India-Pakistan partition. Manish Malhotra is designing the look for the entire cast.
