Not many people think about the environmental issues our world is facing currently; but Leonardo DiCaprio stands first in the line with his, Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, established in 1998, to promote environmental awareness.
On Monday, Leonardo DiCaprio discussed climate change and presented his new documentary Before the Flood, which premiers on the National Geographic Channel on October 31st 2016, at the first-ever South by South Lawn at the White House. Leo took part in a panel with President Barack Obama and climate scientist Katharine Hayhoe, who brought up the importance of not getting overwhelmed by all the reports and simply reacting as a human living on earth.
Katharine said,
“As long as we haven’t signed up for the trip to Mars. I don’t want to know if anybody has, I think you’re crazy.”
Then Leo answered,
“I did,” causing Hayhoe to take back her crazy comment. This gave POTUS a chance to sneak in a joke, “I think he’ll acknowledge he’s crazy.”
Being an environmentalist, Leo referred to the trip to Mars planned by Elon Musk, though it is not set to take off until 2025, but till then you can totally love Leo again and again.
