“Friends” fans can now build their own Central Perk coffee shop albeit a smaller one.
Lego announced Thursday a new Central Perk set for the 25th anniversary of the ’90s sitcom “Friends.” The set includes recreations of the famous orange couch and minifigures of main characters Ross, Rachel, Chandler, Monica, Joey, Phoebe and coffee shop worker Gunther.
Builders can also recreate the stage where Phoebe performed on her guitar, a brick-built coffee machine, cookie jars, menu board and two TV studio light rigs. Measuring at four inches high, 11 inches wide and eight inches deep, the set includes over 1,000 Lego bricks.
The set will be available Sept. 1 in Lego stores and online for $59.99. As the sitcom’s anniversary approaches on Sept. 22, other companies have also jumped on the super fan train, including Hot Topic with a line of “Friends” apparel and Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf’s line of Central Perk coffee.
The new set was first teased by Lego on Twitter with a recreation of the ‘Friends’ opening scene, with six Lego characters sitting on a couch with their backs to the camera as a Monica figure turned off the lamp. Lego tweeted “The one with LEGO bricks 😉 Coming soon.”
