2018 has been major for Lady Gaga: She starred in the first feature film A Star Is Born, got “Shallow” nominated for three 2019 Grammy Awards, and just launched “Enigma,” her Las Vegas concert residency.
Rumors of a Gaga beauty line started in May when fans noticed the singer’s company, Ate My Heart Inc., filed a trademark in February for “Haus Beauty” that covered cosmetics, perfume, and skincare. It was the same story for Rihanna, who filed for Fenty Beauty in August 2014, but that didn’t launch until September 2017. While we won’t be surprised if Gaga launches a makeup line (she has always served unexpected, colorful, and even avant-garde beauty looks,) it may be a while before we actually see the goods.
Lady Gaga isn’t totally new to the beauty industry, she already has a perfume called Fame, which debuted in 2012. She has also fronted M.A.C Viva Glam campaigns in 2009 and 2011. Meanwhile, her longtime makeup artist Sarah Tanno is the Global Artistry Ambassador for Marc Jacobs Beauty.
If the makeup line is a reality, Gaga would be joining a long line of celebrities who’ve launched their own collections, including Jessica Alba’s Honest Beauty, Drew Barrymore’s Flower Beauty, Jennifer Lopez’s Inglot collection, and of course, Kylie Jenner’s Kylie Cosmetics, and Kim Kardashian’s KKW Beauty.
