Notorious author Khalil ur-Rehman Qamar feels that it is our calamity that female playwrights merely adhere to humiliating relationships like those of a mother-in-law and sister-in-law, in our plays.
Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar recently shared his views on an assortment of topics, including the storylines depicted in Pakistani dramas. While giving his opinion on the friendship that exists between a boy and a girl, he said that there is no such thing.
Upon being asked why everyone in showbiz is so afraid of him, Khalil-ur-Rehman said, “People are afraid of me because I am honest with my work. Their own dishonesty often strikes fear in many.”
He stated that female writers have pilloried relationships like sister-in-law, mother-in-law and brother-in-law. He said that 99.9 per cent of the writers in our industry are women, and all they write about are family politics, in turn, stigmatizing sacred relationships.
All that is left to ask Mr. Rehman is, “What exactly do YOU portray in your dramas, sir? your own bias against every woman that ever walked the earth?
