KFC presents Children’s Benefit Concert

A “Children’s Benefit Concert” was held on Dec. 7th at the PAF Museum grounds to commemorate International Disability Day. 4,000 underprivileged and disabled children from over 40 institutions and schools in Karachi were the VIP guests. The event was organized by Family Educational Services Foundation (FESF) in partnership with the Special Education Dept. Sindh Gov’t, and sponsored by KFC, Pakistan. The goal of this yearly event is to provide a memorable experience for children who do not otherwise have such opportunities. It also creates an inclusive situation as children who are “differently-abled” mingle with mainstream children.
TV Host Faizan Haqqee launched the 3 hour event which featured exciting live performances by special guest artists Faakhir, Fuzon, and Shazia Khushk. Additionally, Zahrsss , the innovative drama troupe, entertained the children with fun and meaningful skits,
The Chief Guest, the honorable Chief Minister Murad All Shah, praised the efforts of the organizers to provide such a meaningful event for these children, who are so often overlooked. Over 100 volunteers from local schools and colleges worked tirelessly to seat the children and to serve them complimentary snacks and drinks during the concert. It is noteworthy to mention that in spite of the large numbers, the whole event was very well organized, beginning and ending on time, and with all the children being seated, served and cared for in an orderly fashion.
