Since he is a talk show host himself; it is very exciting to hear the man himself being interview by someoneelse on their talk show. And this is exactly what happened, when Karan Johar graced Neha Dhupia’s audio show ‘No Filter Neha’.
From talking about his fashion threats from Diljit Dosanjh to his love for his children, Yash and Roohi to giving out more details about his upcoming film Takht; Karan Johar has given us lots to talk about.
While talking about ‘Takht’; KJo touted this film as his most ambitious project ever and revealed his inspirations behind the film. The film-maker was quoted saying on the show,” “Takht is the most passionate piece of material that I think I will ever direct. I’m hugely passionate about it. I’m obsessed about the Mughal era ever since I can remember. That’s the one part of history that I was obsessed about in terms of its visual texture, its controversial content, the political betrayal, the love, the lust, the decadence, the debauchery, the madness, the violence, everything. That era is exotic and it’s gorgeous. It’s absolutely beautiful.”
While elaboration more about the plot of the film Karan went on to say,” “It’s something that I’ve always chased and wanted to kind of put up there and finally when Sumit Roy, the writer, came to me with the story of Dara and Aurangzeb; which is pretty much the first time I’m saying that, this is exactly what Takht is about. I think it is that part of history that I’m so passionate about. I can’t wait to get into the prep mode which I’ve already started off.”
Takht features an ensamble cast of a lot of Bollywood biggies including Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Jhanvi Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Kareena Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar to name a few. There have been a lot of speculations about Anil Kapoor essaying the role of ‘Sahajahan‘; Kareena Kapoor Khan who is believed to be playing Shahjahan’s daughter ‘Jahanara Begum‘, Alia as Ranveer’s wife ‘Begum Nadira Banu‘, while the role of Aurangzeb’s wife ‘Begum Dilras Banu‘ will be essayed by Bhumi Pednekar and lastly Jhanvi Kapoor; who marks her second film will be playing a salve in this period drama.
