According to Business Standard Ranaut gave a statement about how people need to stop suppressing women.
She further talked about how even looking back at her childhood she recalled how she was an obedient child but when she needed to break free she just took off filmmaking ways for herself. She also told how no one from her family was allowed to talk to her however her mother would hide and call her just to ask one question “What did You eat?”
