Kangana Ranaut was the perfect choice to play the role of the Queen of Jhansi in Manikarnika.
She is fierce, unrelenting and stands for what is right in real life – everything the queen stood for during her rule in the 19th century.
This three minute trailer will give you a striking revolution of Kangana. She goes from being a carefree warrior to a strong, ferocious woman undeterred by the British or their advanced weapons.
The film is based on the life and time of the queen of Jhansi, Laxmi Bai who took on the might of the British during the 1857 revolt.
“I am very fortunate if you are comparing me with Queen of Jhansi. My mom and dad are here. I always thought why they gave birth to me. But now, I finally feel my life has a purpose,” said Kangana Ranaut at the film’s trailer launch.
Speaking about co-directing the film the actor added, “There is nothing I love more than directing. Even though I don’t get to wear make-up or look like my star self or get any special treatment.”
Manikarnika will release on January 25, 2019.
